![]() Had a really tough time leaving it out of the top three, but… 10/10 creativity and the colours work beautifully together. Serious props to the Wild for turning mother nature into a bear for their logo. What is there not to like about this one? It just works, and is much nicer than the creepy 3D version. Thank goodness the team went back to the 2D senator. I also love the old red Sabre, but this one almost has the look of a family crest and I love it. Their team may suck, but their logo doesn’t. The flying ‘P’ with the black and orange all comes together so well. One of the best logos in the league, without question in my books. Like it more in green but it’s still a beauty. The ‘N’ and the ‘J’ combining with the horns at the top? Pretty genius. Okay I’m going to say it: the Devils’ logo does not get the respect it deserves. Sorry Habs fans but this one is definitely nicer than the ‘C’. Just a classic, good looking logo that will forever hold a place in the NHL’s top ten. ![]() The Knight helmet with the ‘V’ in the middle is genius. What hasn’t this team done right? For crying out loud. The music note is another iconic and one that’s very cool-looking. Was a little more into the Sharks’ older logo (which can be seen on their reverse retro jerseys) but this one is still great. Works well on their their jerseys, shirts, hoodies, and especially snapbacks. The oil drop at the top is a simple, but neat touch and the font is just awesome. The B sticks out beautifully and the black and yellow is awesome. In 50 years from now, hockey fans are going to look back at the Avs logo and say ‘wow, get me a hat with that logo on it.’ Love the colour combination, too. If you haven’t notice, I’m a sucker for old jerseys. But the flying skate? Get it back on a full-time basis. The Orca coming out of the water is iconic. But there are some other great logos from the past that are a bit nicer. Very cool how this one pays homage to the Royal Canadian Air Force. Pretty into it, but there are just so many darn nice logos in this league! Nashville has a pretty cool logo and the colours actually work nicely together on it (unlike that stinky mustard jersey). This is where I think the list starts to get interesting. Just because there’s history behind it, doesn’t mean it’s one of the nicest. But what’s so special here? It’s a ‘C’ with an ‘H’ in the middle. The howling Coyote is pretty cool but can we all agree that the Kachina should be considered the primary logo?! It’s back for home games… but why not away, too?! Again, still like this one though. The island, the writing, the puck coming off of the ‘Y’, it all works nicely together. There are some pretty cool elements in this one. The We love the three stars in this one and the ‘L’ as the hockey sticks but other than that… meh. If their primary logo was the bald eagle then this would be a different story. Zero creativity, unlike the logo they won with in ’04. I actually like the Lightning’s logo but you can’t help but notice how basic it is. The colours do work nicely together, though. I really don’t mind the Hurricanes logo, but I will say it’s a bit basic. If the Rangers were not an Original Six team then this one would get no love at all. Love the addition of the red eye but its just not up to par with the logos to come.Īm I missing something here? This logo isn’t that nice. Seattle’s logo looks a lot better on its jerseys but the logo itself is good… but not great. Nothing against it, just doesn’t stick out for all the right reasons. ![]() The Jacket’s logo is kind of cool but it’s also a bit too cartoony. As for the new duck foot… nothing to write home about.īring back the old cat! Why change something that didn’t need fixing? This one’s okay but it’s kind of meh. In fact, it might be the nicest one in NHL history. ![]() Similarly to the previous two teams listed, the Ducks’ old logo is way nicer than their current one. Could be one of the coolest logos in the league. If only the Kings ditched the shield and just stuck with the helmet. Go back to your roots and make this new ‘D’ a thing of the past already. So sit back, kick your feet up, and enjoy my controversial takes. Rather than giving them a letter grade, I’ll be going from 32-1 and decide once and for all which team has the best emblem in the league. But what about NHL logos? No tier list for this one yet, but I’m going to give my own version a shot. If you’re a diehard BarDown fan then you’ve probably been keeping up with our tier list videos, in which we’ve covered reverse retro jerseys and goal celebrations, to name a few. There’s nothing like a good ole ranking list.

So if Player 2 led the two of clubs for the first trick and Player 4 won the trick by playing king of clubs, Player 4 leads-plays the first card-for the next trick. In subsequent tricks, the player who leads, or plays the first card of a trick, is the one who won the previous trick. Leading: When each round begins, the player with the two of clubs leads that card to begin the first trick of the round. This pattern repeats with subsequent rounds. You keep the cards dealt to you in the fourth round. The person you pass to is determined by what round you’re playing-to the person on your left in the first round, to the person across from you in the second round, and to the person to your right in the third round. Passing: You get to pass three cards to another player at the beginning of every three out of four rounds. You play as many rounds as needed until one player reaches 100. So each player begins each round with 13 cards. Rounds: You play hearts in rounds, and in each round, all four players are dealt the entire deck of cards.Trick-taking games, like Hearts, usually have unique components, and we break down the important aspects of this game in the following list: To do this, avoid taking tricks with penalty cards unless you are trying to shoot the moon. Hearts is a trick-taking card game, typically played with four players, where the goal is to end the game with the fewest points. The men tell Lewinsky that they are F.B.I. She sees Tripp coming toward her, down an escalator, and Tripp gestures to some men behind her, in dark suits and carrying badges. Her affair with Clinton, which lasted for about eighteen months, consumes her thoughts, and she has confided about the relationship to Tripp. Lewinsky has come from the gym, and she’s still dressed in workout clothes. (Lewinsky did not participate in the podcast.) She’s waiting to meet a friend from work, Linda Tripp, for lunch in the food court of “a typical suburban mall, brightly lit, with a movie theatre, a Macy’s, and white tiles on the floor,” Neyfakh says. As we meet Lewinsky, it’s January 16, 1998, and she is a twenty-four-year-old former White House intern. Neyfakh is a gifted and trustworthy storyteller, with a gently wry tone the details in his writing are lightly comic and well chosen, evincing empathy and amazement. “Or is there something we’re not appreciating about what it was like to live through this story in real time?” “A lot of people didn’t.” (That, at least, has changed dramatically, in part because of Lewinsky’s own articulate writing and speaking on the subject.) Neyfakh wants to explore “the ideas that swirled around the Clinton saga-ideas about sex and power and privacy and character,” and to consider whether our attitudes and perspectives have changed. “But I honestly don’t know if I did,” he says. ![]() Neyfakh says that he hopes that he felt sympathy for Monica Lewinsky at the time. As a “child of Democrats,” Neyfakh says, he “took Clinton’s side and believed sort of vaguely and ambiently that Ken Starr was in the wrong.” This reaction was common among adult Democrats, too, though many were chagrined by Clinton’s behavior. Part of what he seeks in the series, which will comprise eight episodes, is to “get into the minds of people who followed the scandal and talked about it and argued about it,” and to figure out why they reacted as they did. In 1998, the year the mayhem began, Neyfakh was in middle school. If it’s painful for Democrats, it’s appropriately so. And I’m pleased to report that “Slow Burn” Season 2 is, so far-I’ve heard two episodes, the first of which was released today-a riveting listen, narratively fascinating, with relevant and urgent themes. ![]() Focussing on Bill Clinton’s misdeeds provides no such political comfort. We could hope that the special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation, whose workings were mysterious, would ultimately prove to be another slow burn, with a Presidential resignation to follow. ![]() In its first season, its audience, presumably largely progressive, could revel in Watergate’s absurdities, and in Richard Nixon’s amusing hubris and short-sightedness, while being reassured, almost subliminally, about our own era. For “Slow Burn,” the story is a bold and curious choice. January, 1998, when the public first became aware of Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky, felt more like spontaneous combustion, and the fire of scandal and political histrionics raged on for the next thirteen months, through Clinton’s impeachment and acquittal. They were different kinds of scandal, with vastly different causes, trajectories, and outcomes, and the Clinton impeachment didn’t feel like a slow burn, as Watergate was. The impeachment saga of Bill Clinton, the subject of the second season of “Slow Burn,” the Slate podcast hosted by the Slate staff writer Leon Neyfakh, would seem, at first, to have little in common with Watergate, the subject of its first. ![]() Some printers can print from a TIFF, but a JPEG is probably the most commonly used file format. Finally, you save your finished work in a file format that can be used. Then, you work on the TIFF or PSD (Photoshop document), saving your changes to it. Of course, you also have the option of saving it as a specific file type. ![]() You’re creating a new catalog of program commands. You’re not duplicating an image, multiplying it over and over with each new edit. That may sound like it would take up a lot of computer space, but it doesn’t really. You can also continue adjusting from where you left off. You can go back to your original image file again and again and it will be just as it was when you loaded it to your computer. Thus, the hard drive space needed for storage is relatively small. This catalog holds the editing instruction for all of your LR images. That catalog is a set of program commands that get applied to the image file when you export it as whatever file type output you are using. When adjusting your image, the edits are stored in a catalog. What that means is that the original file is never actually changed in LR.
